Congratulations to Kaito for getting 3rd in the ASP Japan Firewire, Little Thunder Shonan Super kids challenge JR Pro division !! He was in 1st until about the halfway mark. In the end he just couldn't find another good wave as time ran out. Kaito was surfing really good and too bad he didn't get another solid ride.

The North Shore finally came up today. It's been flat for about 3 weeks ! The forcast was 2-3 ft by the morning so I woke up at dawn and hit it but.... when I pulled up the waves were only 1 to 1 1/2 ft. Well it was better than being flat ! I ended up surfing Chun's. Even though the waves were tiny the walls were nice and long. Here's a sunrise shot.
ノースショアもついにサイズアップ。約3週間もフラット続きだったもんね！予報では朝一には２−３ftだっていってたから夜明けに起きていったのに、入った時はまだ１〜1.5ftくらいしかなかったよ。まあ、フラットよりはマシだけどね！チャンズはサイズは小さいもののロングショルダーのいい波だった。写真は朝日での１枚。

We went to stay in Waikiki this past weekend. Tomoko's parents were on vacation and we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Thanks to my friend Dane for up grading our rooms to ocean view !
先週末はワイキキに泊まりにいってきたよ。奥さんの両親が来てて、みんなでハイアットリージェンシーに泊まった。友達のデーンがオーシャンビューの部屋にアップグレードしてくれて大感謝！
China's contest was going on. Too bad the waves were so small but they made the best of it.
中国の大会やってて、波は小さくてよくはなかったけどベストを尽くしてたね。

The contest started yesterday in surf about 2-3 ft and side onshore conditions. The waves weren't the best but everyone was ripping !

Murasaki, FADE rider Kaito Ohashi came over to do the comp but lost in his first heat. I thought he might have got 2nd but they gave it to Matt Archbold.

Nick Mita surfed his heat today but even with 2 good scoring waves in the 7 point range he got edged out and finished 3rd.

After Nick lost I went surfing with him at Big Rights. I know he was bummed and here he is taking out his frustration. He was ripping and getting lots of good waves. It was about 2-3 with some 4 ft sets, clean , good and we new almost everyone out ! Besides that only 1 longboarder !!
ニックがヒート終わってから一緒にビッグライトでサーフした。ニックは相当悔しかったようで一気にストレス発散。いい波沢山乗ってリップしまくり。２−３ft、セットで４ftのクリーンな波がほぼ貸し切り！近くにはロングが１人だけだった！！

I rode my 6'8" today because i'm still working out my knee. The board is long but I really like it because its loose, fast and kinda feels like a short board.
ぼくはまだひざの具合が全快じゃないので６’８に乗った。長いけどショートのようにルースするし加速するから好きなボード。

Fun 2-3 ft waves on the south shore now. Kewalo's looked good. Alot of pros were there, Kekoa Bacalso, Joel Centeio, TJ Barron etc.
