Perfect everywhere this morning. Waves were in the 3 to 6 ft range. Surfed Haleiwa with no crowd at all and caught lots of waves. The wind started to come onshore but died off again and glassed off. Another big one coming tomorrow ! Check for pics.

今朝はパーフェクトなコンディションだった！３−６ftでハレイワは全然混んでなかったし、波は乗り放題！少しオンショア入った時間帯があったけどすぐに止んで再びグラッシーなコンディションに。明日はさらにスウェルが入ってくる予想。

Contest off today. Waves are only 1-3 ft at Sunset. Big swell should start coming up tonight and maybe 10-15ft by tomorrow. Conditions are perfect this morning, sunny, hardly a cloud in the sky and no wind. Going surfing ! Have a nice day !

オニールワールドカップとロキシープロは両方とも今日は行われず。サンセットポイントは１−３ftくらい。今夜からビッグスウェルが届きはじめ、明日には１０−１５ftのサイズアップが期待できそう。今朝は雲１つない晴れで無風の最高のコンディション。

Roy Powers won the Reef Hawaiian Pro in maxed out Haleiwa today. Waves were huge in the 10-12 ft range with bigger sets closing out from Avalanche across to Haleiwa. I watched all day today and saw some of the best surfing at Haleiwa I ever saw. On a day like this there would probably be a few guys out at most but the top Pros made it look easy out there. Also congrats to Sean Moody who got 4th in the final but was ripping through his earlier heats.

リーフハワイアンプロはロイパワーズが優勝！波は本当にでかくて１０−１２ftでセットはもうちょっとでかくてハレイワ全域でほぼクローズアウト。今日はずーっと観戦したけど、ハレイワで今まで見た中で一番すごいサーフィンだったかもしれないほど。こんな日はアウトに出れるやつはほとんど居ないんだけど、さすがにトッププロは簡単にアウトに出れる。４位に入ったシーンムーディーは切れたサーフィン見せていたよ！

No Reef Hawaiian pro today. thanksgiving day off. The bouy's are pumping right now and if it's not closing out tomorrow the final day of the contest will go. Haleiwa should be at least 10-12 ft !!

The contest went off in stormy 8-10 ft with bigger sets today. The surf wasn't good but they made it look like it was good. Mick Fanning ripped his heat and looked about the best. Jordy Smith also looked like he was on doing some nice carves. The beach was packed with about a couple thousand people watching. Upset of the day was when Sunny Garcia lost in his heat. He showed up late and could only get one wave.

ストーミーな８−１０ftのコンディションの中リーフハワイアンプロはコンテスト再開。良くないんだけど、WCTサーファーが乗るといい波に見えるよ！ミックファニングはさすがのサーフィンを見せていたし、ジョーディースミスもカービングで観客を魅了。ビーチには数千人のギャラリーが集まっていた。がっかりしたのは、サニーガルシアが負けちゃったこと。遅れてヒートインしたからたった１本しか乗れなかったんだ。

It's about 4-5 ft from the North today with stormy conditions. Winds are still bad and the waves at Haleiwa are only about 2 ft so the contest is cancelled for the day. They plan to run the contest tomorrow with a new swell coming in and then probably Saturday the final day of the waiting period. Will keep you posted.


４−５ftの北ウネリだがストーミーコンディション。ハレイワは１−２ftで風が合っていないためリーフハワイアンプロは本日開催されず。明日にはスウェルが届きコンテストピリオドの最終日である土曜までには何とかファイナルまで終了させたい計画らしい。

Came up today on the North Shore but no Reef Hawaiian Pro. It was about 4-6 ft but windy tradewinds with a little to much north in it making for some choppy conditions. This is a picture of V-land I took from the hill over looking it. It looked good there and that was probably the best spot I saw today. Also the most crowded with about 30 to 40 guys out ! Look good at the picture and see for yourself.

Surfed Laniakea today. Waves were really fun but crowded. The swell was North - Northeast so Haleiwa wasn't even catching it. Wave size only 1-2 ft so no contest today. I also surfed a semi secret spot with only 1 other guy out ! Sorry, Can't tell where but its between Haleiwa and Sunset Beach.

今日はラニアケアでサーフしたよ。３−５ftでいい波なんだけど、すごく混雑してた。北から北東のウネリだからハレイワは向きが合わなくて１−2ft前後のスモールコンディションでリーフハワイアンプロはオフだった。そあいて、もう１カ所のシークレットポイントでサーフしたんだけど、アウトには自分ともう一人だけという貸し切り状態！ちょっと言えなくて悪いんだけど、ハレイワとサンセットの間とだけ言っておきましょう。

Meagan Abubo just won the Reef Hawaiian Pro. The waves were about 4-6 ft and fair conditions. She was ripping all day. In her round 2 heat she killed it with a 9.33 and a 10 !! I had a feeling today was her day to win after that. Congratulations !!!!!

リーフハワイアンプロのウィメンはメーガンアブボが優勝！波は４−６ftのいいコンディションの中、彼女はずーっと切れたサーフィンを見せてたよ。ラウンド2では９．３３ptとパーフェクト１０出してたし！まさに彼女の日だったと思う。おめでとう！！

The waves were 2-4 ft at Haleiwa today. Real glassy and smooth. Ben Aipa was there catching some good sets and still surfing really good ! Some pro's were also out practicing for the Reef Hawaiian Pro.

今日のハレイワは２−４ftのいい波！レジェンドサーファーのベン・アイパが入ってて、さすがにいいサーフィンしてたよ！リーフハワイアンプロに備えて数名のプロ選手がアウトに出て練習してた。

Too small for the xcel contest. only about 1 to 1 1/2 ft. Surfed Chun's , which was fun and not crowded but wish it was a little bigger. Next swell tomorrow. Will keep you updated.

波が小さ過ぎてエクセルプロはオフ。ぼくはチャンズリーフでサーフィンした。１から1.5ftで空いていたからまあ楽しめたけど、欲を言えばもう少しサイズが欲しかったね。明日にはまたウネリが入ってくると思う。

Mick Fanning clinched the world title this morning ( Hawaii time ) by winning the Hang Loose Pro in Imbituba Brazil. Congrats to him ! Next WCT up The Billabong Pipeline Masters. Dec 8-20. Can't wait to watch Dane Reynolds and Jordy Smith next year !!

ミックファニングがハワイ時間の今朝、ブラジルのハングルースプロでワールドタイトルを獲得！おめでとう！次のWCTは１２／８から１２／２０で行われるパイプラインマスターズ。来年は、デーンレイノルズ、ジョディースミスが参戦。待ち遠しいね！

I told you it would be brown chocolate water today. The waves were really nice and off shore. Size about 2-3 ft but it was kinda gross. There's a stream to the left and to the right to Haleiwa so everytime it rains really hard all the brown water goes out and flows right into the break. Hopefully the next swell comes soon and clears it out!

言った通り、今日のハレイワはまっちゃ茶！波は２−３ftのオフショアですごくいいんだけど。カレンとが左に、ハレイワに向かって右にあるから、大雨が降ればちょうどブレイク正面に水が集まるわけ。まあ、つぎにウネリが入ってくれば一気にキレイな水に戻るんだけどね。

It's that time of year again. Getting ready for the Reef Hawaiian Pro. Haleiwa will soon be crowded with all the best pros from around the world. Waiting period for the contest will be from 11/12 to 11/24. I surf Haleiwa all the time and like to watch how they surf the wave. The 2 weeks goes by fast and before you know it the O'neill world Cup will be starting so its all good.

今年もこの時期がやってきた！リーフハワイアンプロの会場の準備が始まった。ハレイワは世界中からトッププロが集結しポイントは激込みとなる。いつもハレイワで入ってるぼくとしては、彼らがどんな風に波を料理するのかチェックするのを楽しみにしている。コンテストピリオドは１１／１２−１１／２４。この2週間はあっという間に過ぎるし、そうこうしてるうちに、オニールワールドカップが始まる。

WCTハングルースプロは４−５ftでオン！ミックファニングがワールドタイトルにリーチがかかってる。ラウンド４ではルークステッドマンと対戦。ケリーとタジにはまだチャンスが残されているが条件は厳しい。
ミックが2位の場合、タジは優勝が条件で、この場合ケリーはアウト。
ミックが3位でもタジは2位以上、ケリーはアウト。
ミックが5位なら、タジは3位以上、ケリーは優勝しなければならない。
ミックが9位で、タジは5位、ケリーは2位以上。

個人的には、ミックが早目に負けて、パイプラインに持ち込んだ方が盛り上がると思うよ。

The xcel pro went off today in glassing waves of 10 ft with bigger sets today. Haleiwa was in the 8-10 ft range and powerful ! It's been pouring rain and thunder and lighting since last night ! The water on the North Shore should be nice and brown tomorrow. The rain let up a little during the day but started pouring again this afternoon. The forecast is rain until tuesday. The xcel may finish off tomorrow surf permitting.

エクセルプロはセット１０ftオーバーのグラッシーコンディションで再開！ハレイワは８−１０ftのパワーある波。昨夜からすごい雨と雷が続いているから明日は海は真茶色になるよ。一旦やんだ雨も午後にはまた降り出して予想では火曜日まで続くらしい。エクセルプロはコンテストピリオドの明日までには終わる予定。

Rode the Surf Tech Mahi model at Haleiwa today. It was super glassing and clean at first and about 2-3 ft. Perfect size for the Mahi. After about a hour or so the wind came onshore. It was still ok but kinda choppy. Check the picture below and you can tell it got a little ugly.

今日はハレイワでMahiのサーフテックモデルに乗った。最初は超面ツルの２−３ftで、Mahiモデルには最高のコンディションだった！でも１時間やそこらでオンショア入り、チョッピー気味に。。でもまだ乗れる感じ。下の写真見てみると分かるけど、ちょっといまいちになってきてるところ。

The Xcel contest was cancelled today because of small surf. Waves are only about 1-2 ft. There was a swell forcast to come today but didn't show up. They have about 10 more days to finish the contest. Pray for surf !
This is Kai just after he came in from Haleiwa. It was fun and clean ! He's off from school for another week so he's making the best of it and getting as many waves as he can.

Happy Halloween everyone !! Every year we get together at the Young's, our neighbor's house. There daughter Hoku birthday falls on the day before so we celebrate on this day. The kids have a real fun time. After going around and getting alot of candy they have a costume contest. Whoever dresses the best wins a prize. Here's some pics i took. This is Koa in his mask.
