The contestwas held today in surf of about 4-6 ft. Pretty windy but there were some good waves. It looked really shifty and hard to get good ones but Rob Machado made it look easy with the 2nd highest score of the day. 15.25.
Surfers from Japan still in the contest are, Nao Ogawa, Tatsuya Fukugawa, Shimpei Horiguchi and Mineto Ushikoshi.
モンスターエナジープロが４−６ftで開催された。ちょっと風が入ってしまったけどいい波もあった。ピークが定まらずいい波をゲットするのが難しいコンディションだったけど、ロブマチャドは１５.25ptのハイスコアを楽々メイクしていたよ。
日本人選手でまだ残ってるのは、小川直久、深川達哉、堀口真平、牛越峰統。

Today we all went surfing at Laniakea. The waves were about 2-3 ft and windy but there were some good ones. It was good that WES went surfing with the riders so he could see how they surf and get feed back on boards. After that we went to Haleiwa for a simple BBQ lunch and also talked about some new boards that Tomo wanted to try and Nick went out for a short session on "The Viper ".

フェイドライダー達で今日ラニアケアにサーフィンしに行った。２−３ftで風も合ったけどそれなりにいい波もあった。なによりウェスも一緒に行けたのが良かったよ。なぜなら、ライダーのライディングをその場で見てフィードバックを聞けるからね。その後みんなでハレイワにBBQランチをしにいってニューボードについて話したよ。トモも乗りたがっていたし、ニックも「Viper」でセッションした。写真は左からトモ、大橋海人、ニック、ウェス。
Nick tried this board today. Its a narrow version of " The Stub " WES calls it " The Viper " . 5'9" x 19 7/8 x 2 1/2. Nick said he had alot of fun on it and went good in the small waves ! Check out the new video !!

We went to Sunset Beach for Keeper Surf Shop party last night. That's Eri san on the left next to my wife Tomoko. Keeper owners wife. She invites us to their party every year and just like to say Thank you !!

Tomo's here in Hawaii now and came by my house to pick up his quiver of boards. His plans are to stay on the North Shore until feb.16 and then soon after take a trip to Australia with team Murasaki.
トモは今ハワイに滞在中でボードを取りにきたよ。彼はノースに２／１６まで滞在し、その後ムラサキのチームライダー達とオーストラリアに行く予定。
My friend Mitsu introduced me to some friends of his from Chigasaki and I took them to surf Barbers point located on the south west side of the island.The waves were really fun. A out of season swell was hitting and it was about 2-3 ft, light trade winds and not crowded at all ! It's there first time to Hawaii and were amazed that the waves were this good and it wasn't crowded. They said if this was shonan there would be at least 200 people out !!
友達のミツが茅ヶ崎の友人を紹介してくれて彼らを連れて島の南西にあるバーバーポイントにサーフィンしに行った。季節外れのウネリが入って２−３ft。風も弱くそれほど混雑も無かった。彼らは初めてのハワイで、波がいいのに驚いていたよ。もし湘南でこの波だったら少なくとも２００人は入ってるって！

This picture is hard to see but the waves were good for this spot. it's usually really small this time of year on the south side and plus the weather was nice and sunny ! They got lucky to come when they did !!

Haleiwa was near perfect on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning was 6-8 ft and as good as it gets and Sunday was a little smaller at 4-6 ft but still really good.
土日のハレイワはパーフェクトに近いコンディションだった。土曜のあさは６−８ft
あって最高で、日曜は少しサイズダウンした４−６ftだけど十分良かった。

Went to surf Off The Wall a few days ago. It was only small but really nice conditions and not too crowded. i had fun because i hardly surf there anymore because there's usually tons of people !
